What is FFA?
FFA is the leadership organization that is a part of the three-circle model of agriculture, food and natural resources education. Students begin this experience by enrolling in their middle school and/or high school agriculture, food and natural resources courses. These can range from animal and plant systems courses to business, leadership, communications, wood or metal design and fabrication, agricultural mechanics, food science and more. Once a student is enrolled in a course, they may become a member of that school’s FFA chapter.
Growing Leaders
As an FFA member, students begin a journey into leadership, personal growth and career success that becomes foundational to their development. From community service to leadership positions in the local chapter, members engage in developing their skills. FFA also offers students the opportunity to put to work their classroom knowledge and practice it hands-on in contests called career and leadership development events. Scholarships that are offered from supporters and sponsors also help many FFA members further their education beyond high school.
Get Involved
Communities and FFA chapters work together to build strong programs! The best ways parents can support a local program is to begin or join an FFA Alumni chapter. Alumni chapters become the hands and feet that advisors need to enrich the chapter’s reach and capabilities. Previous FFA membership is not required to become an FFA Alumni and Supporters Chapter!
